Plazoleta y Estacionamiento - Moca, PR
This project will create a new activity platform for the city. Surrounded by key community spaces, the new parking lot and stage will serve as overflow parking for events, secondary event space, and meeting point for emergency occurrences. A performance platform will allow for activities on both the street side and the interior paved area. Normally, up to 82 cars will be able to park in this area. When emergency vehicles are required to pride services to the community, 22 trailers can fit, with half being provided with facilities to connect to emergency power sources or potable water.
Besides the programmatic additions this project provides, the plaza also serves as a stormwater management hub. Raingardens and bioswales surround the main paved area serving as water quality buffers. Additionally, underground storage chambers have been designed to foster a zero-discharge environment.
